I have decided to go on a hiatus. I haven’t really felt like blogging lately. I might come back, but I don’t know when will that be. Anyway, thanks to all who have been following me and I hope you found some of my posts entertaining/helpful/etc. :) I’ll still be checking my dashboard for new updates from you guys!

I was kind of inspiration-less lately, and it might be because I spent my day watching movies. I haven’t done that for a long time and I like doing that once in a while. Last week was quite busy for me. M. and I celebrated our anniversary and then went to the apartment for a few days. We actually wanted to paint our room but, well, that plan failed. We bought paint and prepared everything, but once we started doing it M. got pissed off and quit. haha When he started painting the ceiling it all got messy and he didn’t want us to spend a lot time cleaning afterwards. I was a bit more experienced but it would have last for ages if I did it all by myself. I always like to do the painting by myself (and help from my mom and sister). I don’t know why, it may be a little weird. haha

When I got home on Saturday I went out in the evening with my friends. My friend finally came home from Paris after 2 months. We always say that we won’t let him go the next time because he doesn’t know to come back home from it. My best friend K. was also with us and our friend from Milan as well. Last year she came here in August so we got to see her and go out more. This year she’s been here only for a couple of days so we didn’t spend much time together. Last weekend I also got to see my sister from Paris. I was really happy to see her because we haven’t seen each other for quite some time. So I guess last week was about reunions and that something that really makes me happy and grateful for the people I have in my life.

My sister and I ate all the cake pops. I made them the other day and even though I was in a hurry they still didn’t look bad and they were yummy (which is more important). I wanted to try them for some time but since we don’t have candy melts here I didn’t even try. Few days ago I found a simple recipe with ingredients I already have and I gave it a go. I also painted white a few chairs and a tray I didn’t use before. I think they look better now. I’m into white furniture and white walls even though my bedroom walls are blue and light brown and my furniture is dark brown. I didn’t think my room would look nice if it was all white.

This week M. and I celebrated our anniversary. I made him a collage with our black and white photo we took long time ago, while he made me a Bat-signal from Batman comic books and films. We are both huge fans of Batman films by Christopher Nolan and I found this to be such a nice idea. We went for a walk, to eat pizza and we went to a place where we ~~first kissed~~ kissed for the second time. There were also some swings to which I rushed to. I’m such a kid around those. We made some nice photos there which I should print out and fill those empty photo frames I have.

It’s a bit chilly outside and I like it. I really tend to enjoy September weather. I woke up a bit earlier than usual, because I had to do some things downtown and to go to the dentist. I also met my friend while I was buying some groceries, and I haven’t seen her in a year (!). I know for sure that the last time I saw her was at our friend’s birthday last September. We go to the uni in different cities so we don’t have uni break at the same time.

Yesterday was just a relaxing day and on Wednesday I did some volunteering and I was hanging out with M. in the evening. I haven’t yet started to run. I was supposed to run on Wednesday with my sister and my friend, but my friend couldn’t do it so I ended up walking with my sister. Today we’ll be another relaxing day, I’ll probably catch up on Grey’s anatomy and take some photos outside if it starts raining. I also have to come up with an idea how M. and I are going to spend our anniversary. I hope rain doesn’t mess up with our plans.

favourite accessories: bangles!

My favourite accessories this summer were bangles especially these golden coloured ones. They go well with almost every outfit and I’ve been loving golden coloured jewelry lately. I think it goes really well with white dresses. I don’t remember where I got this set, but it’s slowly starting to lose its colour so I need to replace it with another pair.

favourite activity: reading!

I absolutely love reading! During the semester I don’t have much time to read, because I have already lots of books to read for my literature class and M. and I usually watch a film or new episodes of our favourite tv shows before going to sleep. So summer is the perfect time for me to catch up with reading books that have been on my to-read list for quite some time. Last month I’ve read 7 or 8 books, I think. There are still lots of books I want to read and there’s so little time. :)

favourite make-up products: the colossal mascara and catrice foundation!

During June, July and August it’s extremely hot here. The temperature goes over 40°C therefore it’s not ideal for wearing make-up. So I use only mascara and a little blush, but if I’m going out I also put on Catrice perfect resist foundation.

I was tagged by Kaycee. I guess I should also tag 10 people, but I can’t choose, so everyone who is willing to do it go ahead. :)

✿ I can’t remember the plot of a movie or a book unless I have seen/read it for a few times.

✿ I wish I lived in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century.

✿ I’m nostalgic. I really miss my high school, friends and all the fun stuff there.

✿ I read a lot of books about the subconscious mind.

✿ I love to drive. I think it’s relaxing and I always listen to loud music and sing along (even if I’m bad at it). That’s why I prefer to drive alone and I also prefer to drive at night, because there’s less traffic.

✿ I used to sing in a school choir. lol

✿ When I was little I used to jump from a cabinet to a bed. I never missed a bed. lol

✿ I can take a joke. I even make my own jokes about myself and I love to play jokes on my friends.

✿ I love gummy bears but if I eat too many I feel sick.

Today was such a relaxing day and I spend my time reading books and watching videos on Youtube. My currently favourite Youtube channel is Everything Luxy. It’s owned by Mimi and Leyla and I really enjoy watching their outfit of the day and other lifestyle videos. I’m more into watching Mimi’s videos, but they’re both really enthusiastic and inspirational. Their main channel with hair tutorials is great as well!

My sister’s friend really made my day now. Last night I posted on M’s Facebook wall a random photo of a baby hippo being washed by someone in a washbowl. My sister’s friend asked her today if M. and I are crazy and where we are planing to keep a hippo. When I look at that photo now, it really looks as if I had took it. It’s a nice idea though, having a hippo in your yard. lol

What I love about September is that it reminds me of school. I loved going to school when it’s raining, dressing up for the 1st day of school, having a party at school for the start of the new school year, seeing my friends again… As I have already said, most of my friends are still busy with exams and I hope they’ll be done soon so we could hang out. M. is (finally) done with his exams so now we can spend more time together. When we are here or at his house we usually watch movies, play some games or just talk, so this week we’re going to try something “new”. I already have some plans and some of them are already on my summer bucket list. Today I need to wash my car and finish some things I started yesterday. I should probably cook something to eat (I suck at cooking, I should practice this more often). I’ve been watching cooking channels lately so I have some yummy ideas.

I was quite busy last week. I was with M. for 2 days and on Saturday we went to a wedding. We had one birthday celebration in our family and I went to my family friend’s birthday party. I hope this week will be even more eventful.

Another week has gone by. I didn’t get much time to update, because I don’t spend much time in my room (it’s too hot in here). And I was spending more time with my friends and sister. So far I’m enjoying this relaxing summer. I’m sleeping until 11, when I get up I’m watching cooking channels downstairs (I’ve been obsessed with those lately), my sister and I dedicate 2-3 hours to “spring” cleaning the house we’ve started. Then we go out to tan and swim until the sun is down.

In the evening I’m with my friend K. or with M. M. and I were at a birthday party last night and it was great! He still has an exam left and honestly I can’t wait for him to be done with it. These days we’ve only seen each other in the evening, because he finds it easier to study during the day. Last week was his birthday and our anniversary (or should I say monthiversary?) so we went to a restaurant and we ate pizza. That’s our favourite meal, I can eat pizza every other day. This photo shows the outfit I wore that night. I never mixed these two colours and I like how they look like together. I love mix and matching colours. This green lace skirt is one of my favourites.

Where do all re-blogged photos on Tumblr come from? I know that most of them come from blogs, but what about the other ones? And why aren’t they sourced? Sometimes when I really like a photo I see re-blogged on Tumblr, I want to go to the blog or a site from where it comes from. I want to see more photos from that person or read a story behind it. I take my own photos and post them, but when I don’t, I when I post photos from someone else I source them (if it’s possible to find the owner). I won’t even talk about removing a credit from an image. That’s just pointless and you could get in trouble because of it.

I wanted to go to the pool today, but my friends were studying and none of them could go so I decided to stay at home. Simply because the water is cold and I don’t like swimming without company so I’d have probably spent my time sunbathing. So I stayed at home and went tanning in our yard. I wondered why don’t we set up our pool? It’s now set up and it’s filling with water. I visited my brother today to get some stuff for the pool and I saw my little niece. She is so adorable. When she saw me she said: “Why are you so dressed up?”. I was wearing a random dress I picked up first from the closet. I told her that I wear it because it’s summer and it’s really warm for trousers. She also said to my dad: “Don’t go yet, stay 5 more minutes please!”. And she showed me her toys and wanted to wash my hair. She’s 3 and she talks a lot and really knows a lot. I really feel connected to her despite the fact that she lives in Paris and I see her only in the summer. I watched over her for 2 weeks while she was still a little baby and I loved it.

After a two-month break, due the exam period and my traveling, I’m back to exercising. During the exam period I really find it tiring to fit everything into my schedule. Before it, in spring this year I was following the fitness plan on Tone it up and it worked well, but I decided to change it. I’m now focusing on certain points of my body and I like it more this way. I’ve done this for a week and I’ll be doing it for one more, and when I’m finished, I’ll change it a bit and increase the difficulty.

I’ve just got back home from shopping. I was with my parents to do some grocery shopping and also get some stuff for my room. I got a lot of snacks for myself, because I’m still working on gaining some weight, and I need to snack more between the meals. I also got an armchair for my room, cushion and photo frames. We got new photo frames for our living room too and I need to choose some of our photos to print out.

I as well found this cute zodiac sings packing of Nivea creme. I’m Pisces and it says: conciliatory, steadfast, perceptive, emotional, modest and honest. I have to agree with most of these. I use Nivea creme for dry skin (as elbows, heels and feet) and I use the soft one for my face. It works well for me.

Last night I went out with my friends and the night before M. and I ate out and then came back to my house and watched Pirates of the Caribbean. I had so much fun last night and was glad to see them again. I really miss my class from high school, we always had a blast. We first went to a cafe then to a local rock music concert and at the end to a sort of tavern/pub. Oh, how I missed their stories and jokes. You can never be bored with them. There’s another concert of a popular rock group tonight, but I don’t think I’ll go. We’ll see. :)

Book: The Virgin Blue

Great book! And I have to say, also one of my new favourites.

This novel is about Ella Turner and Isabelle du Moulin whose stories overlap through the book. Ella Turner has just moved into a small town in France with her husband. While her husband Rick works, she wanders around the town and spends a lot of time in the library where she meets Jean-Paul. She also becomes intrigued in her family ancestry. She starts researching and is surprised with the things she finds out.
Isabelle du Moulin is a French Protestant woman who worships the Virgin Mary. During that time there was a war going on between the Protestants and the Catholics so she flees with her family to Switzerland.

I enjoyed the book from the start. I was more interested in Isabelle’s life and the way she would make it through. I learn about conflicts between Catholics and Protestants at the university so I was interested to read about it from another perspective. I also enjoyed Ella’s research and it reminded me a bit of Dan Brown’s books. I’m definitely reading more books by Tracy Chevalier, this and The girl with a pearl earring are currently the only books I read by her. I love her writing style.
